The Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) recommends that ships include "a library containing vocational and other books, the stock of which should be adequate for the duration of the voyage and changed at reasonable intervals" (Guideline B3.1.11 – Recreational facilities, mail and ship visit arrangements).
